Government
Benefits
So you're not sure how to get started
applying for Supplemental Nutrition
Assistance Program (SNAP) and other
government benefits? It's not difficult, I
promise, and you'll be happy you did once
you can go to the store and buy healthy
food for your family without worrying about
the cost.
Iowa residents, go to: http://www.dhs.state.ia.us/
to view the
entire Department of Human Services
website, click on "Assistance Programs" in
the red box on the upper left or go
directly to:
http://www.dhs.state.ia.us/Consumers/Test/AssistancePrograms.html
to find
descriptions and instructions for
application for food, medical, child care,
and cash assistance. You can even apply for
all these things at once if you need to!
Non-Iowa residents, visit:
http://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/
to find out
if you qualify for SNAP benefits, realtors
that accept the SNAP card, and much more.
